Course content
The training is aimed at English-speaking people who are interested in the wide range of employment opportunities in the cleaning sector. The training is suitable for you if you already have work experience in the cleaning sector and want to expand your skills. You can also apply for the training without previous knowledge or experience.
During the training, you will learn about maintenance cleaning tasks and customer service in the cleaning sector. During the training, you will learn to perform maintenance cleaning tasks in various facilities and will be able to act professionally and hygienically after the training. During the training, you will learn to use pre-cleaning methods, clean and care for various surfaces such as floors, and learn to use maintenance cleaning machines in a variety of ways. Possible workplaces include schools, daycare centers, stair cleaning sites, shopping centers, industrial plants and hotels.
Requirements for student selection
Applicants for the training are expected to have:
- Good basic health
- A willingness to work in a customer service environment
- Fluent English
Implementation and content of the training
This training gives you a possibility to achieve a certification of two vocational units of Further Vocational Qualification in Cleaning and Property Services. The training is full-time studying at school and practical on-the-job learning at workplaces in the field. Teaching is in English.
At the beginning of the training, the student’s readiness for vocational training and readiness for employment in the open labour market is ensured. A personal competence development plan HOKS is drawn up for the student and for example possible learning difficulties and possible skills and working experience in cleaning services will be taken into account while doing it.
During this training you will achieve two units:
- Provision of customer-oriented cleaning and property services 15 competence points
- Maintenance cleaning services 45 competence points

During the training you will complete the FRC First Aid Course EA 1® (Finland’s standard 16-hour basic first aid certification). You will demonstrate your competence in practical cleaning service tasks at a customer site and in tasks closely associated with them by the end of the training. You will get a certificate of completed vocational units once demonstrations are qualified.
Training schedule:
Duration of training: 28.9.2026-18.2.2027 or according to the personal competence development plan. Training does not include holidays.

Labour market training is free of charge for the student. During the training, you can receive unemployment benefits and reimbursement of expenses. Labour market training is primarily intended for unemployed persons, or persons threatened with unemployment, and who are registered as a job seeker.
